What is strange is on my another MacBook Pro (2015), everything goes well. Moreover, mouse did not work either on another guest OS (Ubuntu). Installing VMWare Tools did not help on this. So, It does not seem like a configuration dependent problem (not sure though). The editors I use make heavy use of Ctrl/Click and Ctrl/Right Click, so for me. Checking Emulate Right Mouse Button makes Ctrl/Right Click work, but breaks Ctrl/Click which is also interpreted as Ctrl/Right Click :/. Later, I confirmed the problem persists even if I create a new machine to install Windows 10 64 bit. Same deal here, Ctrl/Right Click is not being passed through to the host machine, it is interpreted as Ctrl/ (Left) Click.
